Tyson has learned to flirt

Tyson is sooooooo cute these days. He's such a great baby and very smiley and happy (like his daddy). Because of his uber happiness and his huge smile, he gets LOTS of attention and many girlfriends. A lot of the girls at church throw around phrases like "little brother" or "boyfriend." It's so fun being the mom of such an awesome baby! He's actually holding this cute baby girl's hand in the picture.

God loves us

Thayne and I have been trying to teach a couple of girls about prayer. We prayed once to find a cell phone and then again to find a golf ball while mini golfing. Both times we prayed we immediately found what we were looking for. Today I got a reminder of my own of the love that God has for us and that he listens to each of our prayers.

This morning I went to Wal-mart to grab a couple of things and after paying for my items I put my wallet in the grocery cart underneath Tyson’s car seat. In my rush to get home I left my wallet in the grocery cart. I realized quickly after leaving wal-mart that I didn’t have my wallet with me. I checked with the cashier, service desk, cart boy, manager, and went over the videos with the security personnel. We figured out that I had left it in the cart and a lady came by and put my wallet in her car. The security dude told me to go home and cancel my credit cards. On the way home, I was praying. I told God that I knew he could get me my wallet. He could make sure that the person that found it was honest and good or at least guilt ridden. I knew that he could help me to get it back. I went ahead and canceled my credit card but right after I got a call from Wal-Mart. They found the lady that found my wallet and she had given it to them. She claimed she was going to mail it to me. I'm glad I got my wallet back right away. I didn't have to cancel my debit cards and I got my license and gift cards back. I made sure to thank Heavenly Father right away. I was so grateful!!!

Cafe Rio in Buffalo

I’ve found a way to have food from my favorite restaurant in Buffalo. For anybody else that is craving CafĂ© Rio goodness here’s a great recipe for both the sweet pork and the lime cilantro dressing. I love it. Yum, yum!

Sweet Pork
2 Cups dark brown sugar
1 Cup hot salsa
Per 2 lbs pork roast
Put in crock pot and cook till pork is done.

Lime-Cilantro Ranch
1 envelope buttermilk ranch dressing mix
1 Cup Mayo
1 Cup buttermilk
1/2 Bunch cilantro
1 heaping teaspoon minced garlic
2 Tomatillos
Cholula sauce to taste
Blend in food processor or blender, store in refrigerator until ready to serve (gets hotter when in fridge). Make ahead of time to let flavors melt together. Will keep about 2 weeks in fridge.

Pork Salad
tortilla
sweet pork
lime-cilantro ranch
1 head romaine lettuce
diced tomatoes
monterrey jack cheese
beans and rice
tortilla chips or baked tortilla strips
guacamole

Big boy food - well, not really

Tyson has loved to eat ever since he was a small baby. He likes his milk hot, cold, in a bottle, or straight from mom. His new found love is rice cereal. He gets quite upset with mom and dad if we are not feeding him fast enough.

Tyson loves the park

I picked Thayne up from school yesterday and we went to the park for a picnic. Because Thayne is in school most of the day, he hasn’t been able to go the park with us. It was so much fun. Tyson loves the swings and we took him down the slide. He was in a good mood and was such a happy baby. After the picnic and park fun were over, we went with Thayne back up to the school for another few hours.

What else have we been up to? Well, I had to teach the Young Women about my favorite game, pudding twister, and Tyson and I like walking to the park and library. We attended an eighties party. Yay! I got to break out my crimper! We're trying to get our house back in order and have enjoyed the beautiful Buffalo weather, friends, and BBQs.

El Cheapo gets El Expensivo

I’ve developed a love for Buffalo garage sales. Last week I found Tyson winter clothing at $.25 to $.50 a piece. Wow! What a bargain! When I got home, I told Thayne all about it. He asked, “At that price, how much did you spend, Two, Three, Five dollars?” No, I spent $30! Maybe I need to scale back my new obsession. In my defense I also got a really cool toy and a metal framed baby carrier at that price (Oh yeah! and Baby crocs).

Camping Fun!

A couple of weeks ago, Thayne and I went camping with a bunch of peeps from the ward. It was a lot of fun. Thayne and I weren’t smart enough to put up our tent by ourselves so we had to enlist Anthony’s help. Meanwhile Kristie was hanging pictures in her high ceiling tent. Erica came through once again with delicious ideas for food. My favorite was the grilled fruit sandwiches. Listen to this! Instead of cheese put pie filling in your grilled cheese sandwich. I loved it. It’s not really a Thayne dessert but it's totally Natalie's style. Thanks Kandis and Josh for use of your tent. (We were asked multiple times if we were hardcore backpackers/campers because we were using a backpacker tent. No, definitely not since we couldn’t even figure out how to put it up by ourselves.)

Tyson attacks

Tyson is growing and getting more and more personality. Recently he has started attacking a certain empty bag of chips. Who knew? I guess he really hates that bag!
