Fall break 2022

We decided to visit all 5 National Parks in Utah this year for fall break. We  stopped off at the belly of the dragon and then went to Zions. Thayne took the older 3 and hiked Angel's Landing. I found smaller hikes and hung out with TJ and Jojo. TJ could have just played in the sand all day. The weather was great for the first park but it was super busy.

The kids did the junior ranger program at every park.

We stayed at the Henrie family cabin for the first few days. A big storm hit which cooled everything down but on a positive note, it emptied out the parks. We were snowed in on Sunday so we watched church and hunkered down for the day. On Monday we met up with our friends, the Chuys, and hiked Bryce Canyon.

The next day we headed to the red rocks outside of Bryce and hiked around. We knew we'd be in a hotel on TJ's birthday so we had cake and celebrated TJ a little early.

The next day we packed up and drove to Capitol Reef, Goblin Valley, and Green River. We've never been to Capitol Reef before and the drive from there to Goblin Valley was spectacular. We put up the stopping points with painters tape on the top of the van and then let the kids move a little car from place to place. Goblin Valley is always a hit. We played hide and go seek. We struggled finding Lexi for quite a bit.

Arches is my favorite national park. We've been to it a few times so it was fun to be at a park that we knew pretty well. The kids have hiked so well and made this trip so fun. This was TJ's actual birthday so we had fun celebrating him again.

The last day we drove to San Juan County (Kenzie is doing a 4th grade report on San Juan so she was super excited) and then drove to the last park on our list which was Canyonlands. We had a couple of hikes picked out but shortly into our first hike, Jojo fell and needed stitches. We made it to all 5 parks but only spent about 20 minutes hiking in Canyonlalnds.

We spent the last night with the King family in Price. Dayton and Tyson hit it off and it made my heart happy to have them connecting so well.
